Default rich people driving like a$$es

around here in socal, people who drive expensive cars and have 11-99 chp plates have a tendancy to cut people off, run lights, park crooked in handicap spots and do stuff that just seems messed up. it appears to me that this messed up behavior has helped them "get ahead" in life. maybe they were born rich and just act superior to others. makes me feel like being nice and polite is for chumps and that those meesed up people are playing us all.

I agree.

Just let them be who they want to be. When they are living in a one room apartment cutting coupons, because they hit a kid on the street, we can start laughing.

If you look at most Ferrari owners, they wont drive crazy. Why waste a wonderful life doing something stupid??

They will, its only a matter of time.

In Newport Coast, where I live, it is so rare that you see a rich guy driving like a maniac. It is the children of rich parents that drive like maniacs.

Just a few months ago, a kid in a Lexus LS430 rammed into a brand new CLS55 AMG. The kid thought he was a hotshot of some kind, but I guess not.

usually the people i see driving like "asses" are people with old buick skylarks or rusty old boats. the people with nothing to lose... i'm in oregon though. the people with the really high-end vehicles only take them out when it's not raining (in other words twice a year, if they're lucky ) and when they do, they seem to drive pretty normal. i think it's the famous "socal mentality" you're observing.

Hmmm, around here in NC, people who drive beat up crap, SUVs and Camrys and have normal plates have a tendency to cut people off, run lights, park crooked in handicap spots and do stuff that just seems messed up.

It appears to me that this messed up behavior hasn't helped them "get ahead" in life, but they do it anyway.

maybe they're just bad drivers and just act oblivious of others. makes me feel like being nice and polite is for chumps and that those messed up people are playing us all.

Rich people act absurdly because they think they could get away with anything. Poor people act absurdly because they think they have nothing to lose. Middle-class people are usually the decent folks.

You seem quite bitter. Have a few drinks and loosen up man..

Sometimes the rich people who drive like a-holes have the initiative to do what is necessary to become successful. Questionable ethics have led to many rich business people. Perhaps since they have the balls to be a pain on the road there might be correlation with having the balls to take a risk on business. If you sit back and be a chump, people are going to take advantage of you, that's just the pecking order.
