I've started to contemplate getting back into cycling again and started looking into bikes. My budget is pretty tight with trips and various life-changing events coming up.
That said, I've kept my budget to around $800~$1k. I list $1k but with helmet and other accessories, I think the cost of the bike will end up around $800.

I've done a little research and the Trek 1.2 and the Specialized Allez Sport Triple seem to be pretty popular choices..

Any recommendations? Experience with either mfg? I believe Giant has a comparable bike in this price range but I haven't done much research on them.
