Default Robber crashes into cop car-on motorcycle

Did not see this posted here yet.

Alicante - An armed robber trying to flee a bank suffered serious injuries on Monday when his motorcycle collided with a police car on Spain's Mediterranean coast.
The accident ended a 13-hour ordeal, in which the man used a pistol and a hand grenade to hold up to eight bank employees and customers hostage.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment after crashing the motorcycle - provided by police - into a marked patrol car. He had threatened to blow up the building and demanded a gram of heroin for the hostages' release.

His attempt to rob the bank was botched on Monday morning when a guard was able to notify police. The robber eventually released all the hostages before making the failed escape attempt.

The suspect's father had tried to negotiate for authorities during the standoff.

Shots were fired shortly before the man fled, but no one was wounded.

The hostages, who had been released individually during the course of the standoff, were reportedly undergoing trauma counselling after the incident.

Those wacky Spanish cops, no coddling crooks there. We need to do the same here in the USA. On second thought we do and then some human rights morons step in and sue's the police departments because the police did not treat the crooks with compassion.

Funny I was just thinking that if that had happened in the US the police would be sued for intentionally running into the guy on the bike .....

My brother is a police officer in the UK and he had an official complaint against him for intentionally running a car off the road with his police car. When they investigated it, and found that the car he ran off the road had been driving at crazy speeds through a town centre and had his 3 others cars, injuring people in 2 of them, already whilst trying to escape, and my brother's reason for running him off the road was that he was trying to avoid further injury to members of the public, they threw the complaint out
