The knock against the Twins is that they are too frugal when it comes time to re-up key players. That's why Hunter is going to walk this year and Santana next year. The Twins have done a good job managing a small payroll in a relatively small market, but I don't like the way they operate when it comes to their top guys.

Also, didn't the A's GM invent or at least was the head promoter of the Moneyball philosophy?

f-it, if they pay it more power it him. Professional baseball is not essential but people will pay a lot to see it. They'll bitch at paying for raises for teachers though. I ain't needin no education. I kin rite, i kin read.
