I was in South central 4 blocks from Denny when he was pulled out of the truck and the riots started. A mob chased us out of the restaurant and probably could have gotten us if they had tried a little harder. I spent the first night of the riots in the City of Commerce and could hear gunshots and see fires from my hotel room. I always felt that the cops should have been found guilty of something for the beating, but there was no excuse for the riots.

I don't think Rodney King found much peace in life, maybe now he can find it.
