In Project Gotham Racing 2 there are car challenges for each of the 100 or so cars. Each car has a best lap time ranking that is online on Xbox Live. That means your best lap is posted for all to see. The S2000 car challenge is on a pretty technical course with some decent straightaways. Let's see who on s2ki is really the fastest.

 

You are on once I get the damn thing. I am not a fan of the series but online racing is online racing period (except for AM from Capcom. That blows. I can't stand games that feel like I have one circular tire in the middle of the car.) I personally want Sega GT to hurry the hell up. I guess it is delayed until december now. Anyway, Gotham will more than do..

I'm gonna have to re-buy an Xbox for that game - but really for Halo 2.

And it looks like I'm gonna have to re-buy a GameCube as well - MarioKart is coming out soon.

Yes Gotham 2 has the S2K as well as about 100 other cars, including Ferrari Enzo, Porsche Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda S, and Honda NSX-R. Once you've tried racing online with Gotham 2, you can't touch another racing game. You can race with up to 7 different people. Did I mention the game also includes the awesome Nurburgring.

Can you imagine an online grudge match race between us S2K'ers and a group of 350Z or Boxster guys around the Nurburgring?

 

I just ordered the game. I thought the first PG was pretty good but the screen shots on this did look better. How is game play on it compared to the first one?

Gameplay is much more oriented towards racing. The tracks are wider and less confining. The two things that do it for me are online multiplayer racing and the online leader boards for hot lap times.
