Default S2K and Geo, the saga continues -- sometimes it pays to really vent!

I took my S to Pasadena Honda at 7:30 AM yesterday for warranty (wind noise), recall (seat belt retracters), and possible front end alignment (a long story, has to do with the body shop). Car promised back at 5 PM. I call at 5 PM and the service adviser says "I need it a little longer. I'll give you a free wax job to keep it overnight." 1:15 today I go to get it and they HADN'T STARTED ON IT. Service adviser says " we got really busy, while he's sitting on his fat ass eating. I said "Why didn't you tell me last night you hadn't started on it." he replied "You didn't ask." I blew it right there, went into the service manager's office, and closed the door. "I'm really, really pissed. I've been a customer for nine years, my wife almost as long (I didn't tell him that she now drives an Acura MDX), and my S came from here." You're this close to losing me as a customer. He apologized profusely, said the service adviser will be fired if it happens again (which I take with a grain of salt), said he will pay for my rental car, pay for a car wash and wax, and give me a car cover. Bottom line: puke green Geo Metro (which I'm no longer referring to fondly) for one more night. Picking S up after gym in the AM tomorrow.

thats why I hate to take my car to the dealer.

my dealer needs 7 hours(8am-3pm ) for a oil & filter change even I have a appointment.

but at least you got a new car cover and wash & wax, and you can enjoy the green Geo Metro for one more day

This is a sad tale of EPIC proportions. When does it all end?

I've had reasonably good service at my dealer.... Awesome service compared to your tale.

What a major bummer.

yet, another story to back up the fear of taking my car to any dealership. DO YOU HEAR THAT HONDA? yes, you are making money because I haven't dared appear at a dealership with any of the annoying, yet much needed TSB's.

Raptor, look for huge swirl marks on your paint-job from the "Free" wax job the dealer gives you. That would really be the frosting on the cake!!

Uggh, I bought my S2K from them and had nothing but prolems - 3 trips back to the dealership in the first WEEK, 2 of them due to the POS alarm they installed. I swore off that place when I saw one of the service writers give a BS line about leaking CV boots to an old lady...

I ended up with (1) wash and wax, (2) rental car paid for, (3) car cover, (4) leather dressing on seats, (5) polish cloudy rear window (looks great), and (6) last but not least -- my S back.

The keying of the Geo ended up costing me $35 (vs. $540 body shop estimate to repair): $10 for polish and rubbing compound and $25 for Dent Wizard -- two dents for the price of one.

It sounds like you got away clean (no pun intended). Any swirl marks?

I hate to venture the question ... but did they fix what needed fixing?
