neighbor just brought home his new lexus... looks much better in person than in the photos. nice luxury convertible- great navigation system and what a cool top... dark dark green color with sort of red interior- no room in the trunk at all with the top down. back seat seems useless too. auto transmission- not in our class!
the car should be at the next WLA meet for all to view.

Don't get me started on Lexus.....my step dad (D6.0) has the bastards in court right now. All over whether their SUV can be towed wheels down behind a motor home. Answer is no but they said it could. Went through 5 count em 5 transmissions! Lexus is hosed and they know it...settlement could be interesting.

P.S. "Dad" (75)took the Stook up the mountain this weekend....his only comment "awesome...God I love Honda..they're an engine company you know?". Kinda scary letting a 75 year old man take Electra up the "run"....but I figure if he losses it my mom might give me the D6.0. No luck there.

Beside the gizmos, luxuries, and the cool top, the SC430 i dont think keeps up with the S in other departments like transmission, styling, performance, and handling. The rear spoiler is just hideous. After what they did with the SC400, it seems like those Lexus designers retired and the Volvo guys took over.

so flame me guys! i said its not in our class!!
still it is a cool toy. wouldnt trade mine, but i can appreciate its existence- i do like the technology in the top; pretty neat to watch it fold into that trunk... when it is in the trunk there is absolutely no room (unless you remove the spare; or use run-flat tires). also interesting that if anything is in the trunk, the top will damage its self.. no sensors to prevent it.
o.k. bring on the next flames!

Saw one yesterday with it's top up and I seriously thought it was a riced out Camry Solara convertible.
Maybe it looks better with the top down.

I really like it. Of course, it's a totally different car than the Stook, and you can't really compare them. But I think that the design of the car is quite nice. Apparently, the designers spent much time on the Riviera noticing things like yacht designs, architecture, etc. and came up with the SC430.

Hey wanabe,

I should've known from the area you live in that one of your neighbors would be the first to get that car. It's a nice car, but what's up with all the commercials in French???

Wouldn't trade mine in for one of those. I actually saw one a few months ago that had dealer plates on it at a gas station. The guy just kept staring at my car as I drove by.

I love the SC430.
I would love to have one...but I can't justify spending 60 big ones on a 2 seater. (the backseats aren't even big enough for a big dog)
I'd rather settle for a family car with better value.
I may pick up the TL-S this weekend.

I saw one during my drive at lunch today. Took me a while to figure it out - I didn't know they had been released. Anyway, it's not nearly as ugly as I thought it was from the pictures. But it ain't pretty, either. It's too big and bulky. I like the previous SC400s much better - they're so sleek.
