I don't think he meant "monkeys" in a racist way. The term "Ass Clowns" would've been better. Of course you wouldn't want to say "Ass clowns" if you were talking about people form san fransico then the term "Monkeys" as in monkeying around would be better suited because they might take "Ass clowns" as being antigay male.
Seriously I don't think he's a racist, I just think we inferred that verbiage as racist to quickly.

Dang, i always thought money orders are like cash. I've received my fair share of money orders from people. Most i've never even heard of the bank, quickie mart, whatever. How can I see if real or not if banks can't detect??

We are not pissed at the situation, just in disbelief.
That is funny and probabaly sooooo true.
Life goes on!!
Let people know..
Wait, was the money wired to Nigeria or London? If it was Nigeria, that should have been a red flag immediately. Can't you file a claim or something with the bank that validated the money orders? It seems to me that it's their fault for not catching the counterfeit mo's. Money orders ARE like cash, you pay cash to buy a money order which is then sent out to the reciever. So, the bank should treat it as so...go after the bank.
That sucks. There should be an easier way for the banks/companies to know that the mo's are counterfiet. I feel bad for your wife.
Have you seen the movie, "Catch me if you can." It's interesting how far counterfieters will go.

Yeah, I guess I don't understand the point of money orders, then. It seems to me that if you give your bank counterfeit money orders or cash or whatever, they should evaluate it and it should be their concern, not yours. But I guess that's the way the world works, eh?
There are countless stories out there from CNN and MSNBC. If you google "counterfeit money orders" and Nigeria there are stories from Iowa, to Colorado, to Texas, etc. involving this kind of scam.
