well the issue I have with it is that if it is made of cartilage then it took a lot of resources and time and effort that could have gone to someone "needing" the procedure.
They make tons of things for the body mods freaks to insert under thier skin. He could have easily commisioned the same ear shape to be molded out of surgical plastic and then inserted.
to me it is a huge waste of resources.
What would have been more impressive to me is if he cloned his own ear or actually relocated his existing ear to his arm, then it would have been art-like to me
