The Scientific Miracles
No offense, but Islamic scholars built off what came before them, i.e. Egyptian, Jewish, Greek, and Roman contributions, and likely others. If it can be deduced purely by observation, it has probably been deduced by someone, somewhere. Assuming that there must have been some divine influence for a person to write down observations that anyone with eyes can make is a stretch, IMHO. It seems that some people assume that before they were born, all people were stupid. I don't know where that comes from, but it seems that many people are astounded that buildings could be built without diesel-powered cranes and Redimix.
Long before the birth of Christ, people were measuring the circumference of the earth by the position of the sun in the sky. Why, then, is it so astonishing that someone in history might have been observing stars at night, and tracking their movements, much as we do today?
