when was the last time we put anyone to death in CA? It's very symbolic, but very worthless. He's lucky he didn't do it in Texas.

from the mercury news:
"Peterson still might not be executed for decades, if ever. That is because California's death row has grown to house more than 640 condemned men and women since the state brought back capital punishment in 1978. Since then, only 10 executions have been carried out. It can take years for even the first phase of the appeals process to begin."

I doubt they had enough real evidence to convict him in the first place. I think it was based solely on circumstantal evidence, they should never have prosecuted him in the first place. They should've found something substatial. I'm pretty sure he did it but without solid evidence I would never have convicted him. A hair found on the boat, I just threw out an old sweater that had my ex-wifes hair on it. That could be considered evidence if she came up dead? That sweater has been in three of my apartments and I havn't seen or talked to her in over 5 years? Then after not having enough evidence to rightfully convict him (murder weapon, evidence on the body) they sentance him to death. Morons... Yet OJ....

But, just maybe the *great* state of California learned a thing or two from past mistakes... :cough: OJ :cough:

ya, it is pointless unless it is a state that actually executes.... here in PA we have only executed 3 people in the last 30 years (or so).

We were supposed to see one get killed last week (he killed 13 people, including 5 of his young kids back in 1982), but..........he had more appeals!!!!

Looks like CA broke the curse and convicted someone of murdering his wife.

What a bunch of liberal pu$$ies. Cal doesn't have the testicular fortitude to execute a man that murders his wife and unborn child. Weak.....
