As a Landlord I got some calls for one of my places in Oceanside. A 3+2.5 renting for $1800/mo. I was so surprised to get some calls from Section 8...

Section 8 definitely isn't a place to get back on your feet, it's a lifestyle. There are generations of people living in the subsidized housing that never even consider living in anything else.

Yea, I've decided to stay away from Section 8 and just be safe than sorry later. The rent is tempting, but I rather not deal with the potential negatives that come with it.

A friend of mine lives in a section 8 complex while he's working on improving life for himself, his wife, and their two children.

I don't feel that it is any worse than other places around town to live, but I guess it's all relative to where you live

my family was qualified for section 8 and we used it to rent a house in a upper middle class neighborhood. very nice, quiet and friendly neighborhood.
