Default As Seen on TV?

We've all seen cheesy stuff sold on TV at 1 a.m. I was just wondering how many people here have bought anything from an informercial (or a retail store such as Bed, Bath, and Beyond) and it actually work per manufacturers claims. With all the evil Tornado Fuel Savers and Oil Additives advertised it would also be entertaining to hear any horror stories you guys might have.

I'll go first. I have a George Foreman grill and it is essential for college life. The only thing it doesn't cook too well is steaks but other than that, I'm happy with it. My friend has a Ronco Showtime Rotisserie Grill and he says that it makes an awesome beef roast.

The only thing I've ever bought that didn't work is some synthetic wax that claimed to be better than carnuba. Another of my friends bought one of those gator grips and said it couldn't grip anything.

And You?

haven't ordered anything.. but we have a store in the mall called "As seen on TV" and it has all the stuff not usually available in stores on the infomercials, so it's more convenient just to buy from there.

Oh I forgot, I bought a Sonicare Toothbrush and it works great. The only thing that sucks is that you can't replace the battery. The warranty is only for two years so if the battery dies after then, I'm SOL.

I had two roommates in college. One weekend, I went out of town for a weekend with one of them. When we came back, #3 had bought a $125 set of knives from one of those. It was insane; came with something like 50 difference pocket knives plus a sword and a dagger.
