Default See's Candy

I realize that for many of you in other parts of the world (i.e., not Southern California), this may be utterly foreign, but I was wondering who here is a fan of See's Candy. See's began in Los Angeles, and is hard to find anywhere else (some airports across the U.S. have See's kiosks - I got a box of Molasses Chips in Detroit about a month ago - but there aren't many other locations).

I've had all sorts of chocolate - See's, Godiva, Helen Grace, Hershey's, Nestlé's, and many others - and like See's better than all of them.

My favorites: dark-chocolate-covered candied ginger, dark-chocolate-covered marzipan, and milk-chocolate-covered molasses chips.

Hhhmmm may have to order some online, if they're as good as you say, and their prices aren't bad either....especially when you consider the prices at like Anthony Thomas and Godiva chain stores.

We've got 'em in Annapolis. They come and go, not bad.

I don't like them. There are a lot of others who are better: Godiva and J Schmidt are two that come to mind.

However, See's is pretty darn good. Definitely worth trying. . . and they definitely show signs of hand-dipping/hand-made quality.

I'd say See's over Godiva, nothing against Godiva but I grew up with See's and I prefer it. Godiva is richer where as See's is more wholesome (if you can call a truffle wholesome). Recchiuti makes more Godiva-style chocolates that are even better than Godiva, of course their prices make Godiva look like Wal-Mart. For chocolate (baking, bars, and hot chocolate) Guittard, TCHO, and Scharffen Burger.

I grew up on See's Candy, but didn't realize it was a "local" company 'til later. Loved them then, love them now.

I actually thought See's was from San Francisco... (where they're HQ'd today).

See's Candies is a manufacturer and distributor of candy, particularly chocolate, in the western United States. It was founded by Charles See and his mother Mary See in Los Angeles, California, in 1921. The company is now headquartered in South San Francisco, California.[1] It has kitchens at its headquarters and at a second location in Los Angeles, where there is also a retail shop. It also has an office in Carson, California.[2]
