You didn't need to be crass. I've found that being completely up front and honest is a good way to go:

"I don't know what exactly you're looking for, but having a kid at 22, out of wedlock, with a guy that you're hesitant to love is no way to impress me or earn my attention. While I have been doting in the past, I realize I need to get on with my life in a sound and mature manner, and that means focusing my attention on my career, my money, and my well-being. Please do not contact me again unless it is for professional reasons. Thanks."

 

Update:

I haven't heard from her.

I work on 635 and Preston in Dallas and had to go to Grapevine to pick up my Rick's voodoo shift knob
and I called her to see if she wanted to hang out/grab food (she lives near Grapevine). She didn't answer, and never called me back after I left a voicemail.

Please keep in mind this isn't just a total shot in the dark. I've gone out with her about 10 times in the past. Movies, dinner, etc. She even went with me to my best friends wedding to make my ex gf jealous (I posted about that here about 8 months ago).

I'm sure having the baby has straightened up her priorities, and I'm sure she's very busy. I'll wait my turn I guess.

 

Granted, I think Kelly Clarkson is hot.
