Hondagal is on vacation, and I've come to the conclusion that a very few of the guys here really care what the women here think. Every time I've made a remark about the sexism here, I get shot down by men, but I get PMs from women thanking me for having the guts to do it. Same goes for the gay bashing here.

More than a few women just don't come to S2Ki anymore... does this shock anyone?? For a site that's supposed to be owner-friendly, this is the case far more for straight men than anyone else by a long shot.

My previous statement was just to let everyone know how I handle things. I was not insinuating that that's how you should handle them.

IMO, only if it's from someone who you care about. Someone who you truly know and love. Otherwise, I could care less what people think about me.

BTW, I'm sorry that some people have made you feel uncomfortable at times. If I ever have, I'm sorry and I did not intend to do so.

 

I'm with Sondra on this one. I abhor the road that this forum has gone down. I'm not into censorship but I do believe people need to be aware of their audience and take that into account when posting. I don't go to family gatherings and use profanity as I might when "hanging with the fellas". It's not because my family is into censorship. It's because it's not the place to do so. This forum is what we make it. Quite often, we make it into a sexist haven for guys who haven't quite grown up yet. Might I suggest off-topic.net. They specialize in that type of content. For me, I'd rather have the input of some of the people we choose to alienate.

You guys don't get it. It's not about just this thread. Look through the forum and look at some of the older threads. Even a thread that Sondra started a month or two ago that was intended as a good natured reversal of the issue, where she poked fun at males, was turned around into a female bashing thread. Again, it's not ONE thread. It's an environment that has been created that is not friendly to certain groups, especially women. You guys might like only hanging with men and that's your option, but personally I like women and would like for them to be comfortable enough here that they read and post. You might want to look through the threads and see how many women post. Maybe then you'll understand but I doubt it.
