The Shield?
...you've gotta be kidding. The show's great!
Never watched the Practice so I can't comment on that outside of the fact that David E. Kelly of Alley McBeal
fame created it, and it's a network tv show. Those facts turned me off before I would turn it on. The former in particular.
Great line in last night's episode where Vic Mackey was interegating a guy who was involved with a really young girl. Mackey say to the guy "So what've you got against pubes"

But seriously... I doubt they're any crazier than us.
Maybe one exception..... those guys that do those Jackass stunts
Back to 'The Shield'.... what I find appealing about the show, at least in the first series, is that it presents an offbeat slant on things. The actors aren't your typical 'handsome' types and in the introductory episodes you're temporarily left thinking "is Vic a good guy or a bad guy or a hybrid of the two"?
It becomes quickly obvious that he's bent but you find yourself siding with the rebel in him (or I do anyway
) plus they keep showing you his compassionate side. It's raw stuff. I like it.
Unfortunately in Oz we seem to get a few weeks of a second series in before they yank it and replace it with some stupid reality show (like we need another one of them
)
The Sopranos was my other fave but the TV stations dicked us around so much with the second series scheduling it was unbelievable.

Every Tuesday night my buddies and i totally geek out. We get together around 8 to shoot pool and drink some beer, then at 9 24's on then at 10 its the Shield. I feel like a chick going to a Survivor party or something.

You're crazy when you say that this season isn't good. This season is already rated higher than the Soprano's of this season in the ratings.
