I have used laptops and desktops from both Dell and IBM for many years. I have also used Apple desktops. I have never found the need to call any of their support services. Not even once. What am I doing wrong?

My last company did an PC renewal and replaced dells with dells. NEW dells (gx240s I think) had hard drives popping all over the place. We replaced ~800 computers and atleast 50-70 hard drives died within a month.

Maxtor I think... I think it may have been the small size of the hard drive and computer coupled with heat issues.

CORNER!

I will agree with Hegulator, the new Dell PC's are SO easy to work on. No screws, you just unclip everything!
However HP still gets a good stamp in my book. (Pc's Laptops and printers.)

I've had nothing but good experiences with Dell and the 2 laptops and 1 desktop I have bought from them.

On the one occassion I needed support (a few years ago) the service was exemplary.

Dell is kinna pissing me off, I called tech support and I got a guy in India (fake name Steve). I think that they were doing VoIP to India too; there was a 4-5 second pause from the end of my question to the beginning of his response. I wonder how many of those annoying Dell interns lost their TV jobs?!?

HP/Compaq is starting to piss me off too we have lost 40 power supplies on out new Evo (Compaq) desktops in 20 weeks. We are on regulated power too!!

HP is starting to put expiration dates on their ink jet and laser jet cartridges. So if you don't use all your ink or toner is a set amount of time the cartridge will expire and you will have to buy a new one!!! This $hit is outrageous!
