besides, people who see you lugging that thing around would probably think your a poser for putting ferarri logos on your laptop.
i'm currently looking for a laptop as well.. i'll be starting law school in January and so i need one.. i say buy something with the features that you NEED and cost efficient, not just stuff to look cool.. and then when it's out-dated in a year or so.. you can sell it and buy a new one and not worry that you're gonna lose too much money.. that's just my humble opinion...
racer chick, i will sell you my powerbook g4 then. it is the newest one.
and if you want to build your own laptop, and you want upgradeablity, chech this forum, as someone in a previous post mentioned.

go to the notebooks general section towards the bottom.
these people are as hardcore about computers as you are about your s2000.

Pete, what are you using the notebook for? IBM is basically the cream of the crop when it comes to notebooks. If you're looking for portability, their T-series is great. I'll give more info when you post what you're looking for in a notebook.
With the T-series, instead of getting Ferrari stickers plastered all over, you get carbon fiber / titanium constrution and some of the best support in the industry. (24 hr/ USA based support) Most other companies have switched to India for support in order to save money.

I don't really need much (but I'd like something nice).
I'd like to be able to read/copy/burn CDs+DVDs, play my Sony Memory Sticks (regular and PRO), wireless LAN, firewire, printer output, upload/download with my DV cams. I'd like a good quality screen, fast processing, and I'd like good styling and ergonomics. Longer battery life, and good customer service are good for me, too. For school, I use Power Point, and programs like that, but I can just add my Office XP, right? I really don't want to spend more than $2300.
I really want to know how the Acer Ferrari 3400 stacks up against other notebooks with the same price or with the same features.
