2nd Gen Eclipse GSX (4WD, turbo)

or

'94 Integra LS (Frankenstein conversion, boost, FWD)

?

Budget is about $10K

I want to start garaging the S2000 and need a beater.

after having a 90 Talon AWD turbo (basically same as the GSX) about ten years ago, I'd have to vouch for that. That car was a lot of fun! I miss that car. I'd definately go for it, but watch out for blown turbos and individuals who have maintained them with crappy oil and anything below 92 octane - those things really suck without 92/93 octane in them. Other points to note, the back seat is a joke, a helluva lot more than the Integra. The Integra's backseat isn't as much of a joke.

Get the Integra. It is a more quality car. Besides, the mods are endless.

I gotta go with the Eclipse. A friend of mine has a Talon AWD turbo, and last time he autoxed it he got Fast Time of the Day. It was sick how fast (and yet controllable) that thing was. Faster than the little formula cars even.

As opposed to the Eclipse? I think you have that backwards, the mods are endless on an Eclipse GSX compared to a 94 teg LS that is already turbocharged. The teg would probably be beaten to death already since it's already modified.

We're saving up for a house, ETA late this summer, so I gotta watch my spending.

What about reports of "crankwalk" and "all kinds of mechanical problems" with the eclipse? should I be worried about that?
