Should i get my Masters in Civil engineering?
The thing is that most people wont know what they want to do with their career straight out of school. They may think they know but until they (you) get out there and see what its really about you wont really know.
Im a qualified Civil Engineer with a combined BEng/BCommerce and I have 5.5 years experience. Personally I think that experience is much more important but then I also believe that I learnt more working for a year in the construction industry than I did in my 6.5 years at uni.
Go into the field you think you want to and spend some time getting to know the industry because academics will sell you only what they have experienced when the truth is there's a lot more out there.
My preference is with project work so IM(biased)O if you really want to further your studies go become a Professional Project Manager or do an MBA. I still recommend that you wait and find a company that will pay you to do it and give you practical experience along the way though so when you're done you're marketable with x years experience.

i'm going to graduate from cal poly pomona in socal. Not the Best school out there but good enough imo. For masters in socal i have the choices of staying at cal poly or going to USC or even Irvine for emphasis on transportation. Anyone else took their masters in socal?
