Default Should I learn guitar or piano?

I've put this off long enough. I've got a few extra hours everyday that I'd like to put toward musical learning.

Should I learn guitar or piano?

Details:
1) I own neither instrument. If guitar, would probably buy a cheapo one. If piano, rent one.
2) I can read music
3) Have 10 years of violin experience and lessons, but havent played in almost 10 years.

Thoughts? suggestions that will help me decide?

Jason

What type of music do you want to play? I've always wanted to learn piano and will some day.

I would learn Piano.. I know both, and while I play guitar 90% of the time, I'm happy I learned piano first.

The other side of it is, its an easier transfer from piano to guitar then the other way around

Granted however, it is truely a personal choice

I think I would like to learn whichever one is easier.

If I was to play piano, it would have to be classical music. I love the way it flows.

If guitar, then I'll probably play famous songs by Eric Clapton and other guitarists. ie...pop stuff.
