Since the thread on the upgrade in annoucements got locked, not sure where to post.

Here is what someone should say on behalf of this site on the main page assuming of course this is true.

Hello S2KI, in trying to give you the best web site experience we can we from time to time upgrade this site. This most recent upgrade has many great enhancements but it obviously has some bugs and we are working on them. S2KI is not my day job not does it make me money and it takes a considerable amount of my time, that said some personal (my life) stuff got in the way as the site upgrade ran considerably longer than it should have.

Please hang in there, S2KI will be back and better than ever, those that are members we appreciate your patronage and hope you will continue to support our site, the S2000 and the community.

Meh. It is what it is. It'll get fixed eventually.

But I guess Members look at it from a different perspective.

 

Well put. I tried saying something similar, but it felt on deaf (and then locked) ears.

Just a bit of communication would be nice. Doesn't need to be a blow by blow, but something to know that I didn't waste my last member fee.

 

Sig images, forum badges, albums -- everything is gone.

The benefits of the new layout are obvious. If you're too ignorant to see that, then I don't know...

I like this new look and function, and I like that it's getting better every day. If you ever went to the old site on a cell phone, it wasn't shit compared to the new mobile look and ease of navigation.

Could things have gone smoother? Sure--but they didn't. Your false sense of entitlement because you're a paying member won't change that, and neither will reverting back to the old and archaic layout.

Adapt.

 

Just saying they should communicate, my post above took all of about 5 minutes to write. people are leaving S2KI and that's a shame.

Off Topic is a huge forum, one of the biggest here and we hardly have any new posts lately - it's dead.

 

... ignoring the dead horse that has already been thoroughly beaten, off topic has been dead for some time now. It had nothing to do with the site changes.

 

OT dying was a result of giving paying members access to a separate OT. A George divided against himself, cannot stand.
