Subaru had to do the same thing to an Impreza 22b WRX that they imported to the US. After two years stateside, they were required by federal law to destroy it...sad, 22b's are very rare!

 

The GT-R is about $48000 at current conversion rates if bought in Japan, cheaper then a Vette. They are expensive here because Nissan doesn't import them, so you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get one. Looks are subjective, I think they're very sweet looking, the GT-R weighs about 3400 lbs with All wheel drive, all wheel steering, near 50/50 balance, great aerodynamics, and lots of other goodies.

The GT-R is faster than you think on a track... The AWD and AWS make up a lot of the lack of power compared to a Z06. Don't get to see many race though, so it's hard to prove one way or the other which is faster.

WTF? Is that emissions testing?

It's sad about the Skyline getting crushed ...even if it was a pre-production tester! Just hope that means Nissan is serious about bringing the Skyline over to the US.

 

thats terrible. The reason why they do that, i think, is because the government know if they let a lot of great, unchanged from japan, japanese cars into the country, those cars will crush the american compatition.
