Well, I just scanned with Ad-Aware 6.0 (which I always use), and it found 17 items. After "quarantining the selection" I ran SpyBot and it found 76(!) registry keys and files! Obviously, SpyBot performs a much deeper and thorough scan, and is thus a better program. It's free, too.

Ok.... I have a 2.4 ghz Pentium 4 Toshiba laptop. Any way i dont know if its the registry files or not. but i did just install unreal tournament 03. Maybe its because of that? should i uninstall? Thx!

spybot updates more constantly and consistently. using both is good measure though

oh btw, i also use norton utilities windoctor to clean up bad reg keys.

Scan your computer again with AdAware. See if you find bad files again. I've had to cleanout some of my clients' computers from SpyWare infections that AdAware, McAfee (the anti-SpyWare side), and PestPatrol could not completely remove.

PIA, let me tell you... some of these SpyWare infections are soooo virulent (and ever so persistent).
