OK - so I posted an add on Craigslist to sell off a couple of Pronto Remotes I do not use much any longer (got new ones). Here is the listing for the one in question:

I get an email asking if I still have it, for which I respond yes and ask them if they would like to check it out.

Then I get the email response below:

i say bs as well. offering $40 more money + using a money order only + "buying for someone else" (my friend got a variation of this many times trying to sell his ipod) sounds fishy to me. tell the guy to sign up for paypal.

 

i have gotten several variations of this from CL postings; it's a scam

 

Thought this thread was going to be about something else. Then I realized this isn't Backlot.

 

Don't walk, run from the deal. Tell the guy no and end the discussion.

 

tell them $4k over price + no guarantee of delivery or you are calling the cops; you tracked their location by email address via your *special* software

what the H do they know?

 

Play along, but send a nasty picture (2 girls 1 cup?) and see if they notice.

 

If you didn't know that was a scam by just reading it, then...bridge to sell...
