Default smog check!

hi guys,

my name's jon. I currently own a 2000 accord and i have to get a smog check to renew my Ca license and registration. I have a 5zigen Axle Back fireball exhaust and am a little concerned about emissions. Will i pass the smog check?

On top of that, i recently took my car into the dealership for a 'check engine light'. They diagnosed my car (65 bucks .. personally why do we have to pay for them trying to solve the problem.. it's their product. they should take care of it for free. ) with a faulty PCM that has caused my O2 sensor to fail. The service guy mentioned that in 2-4 months, my catalytic converter will be damaged. Is there any truth to his diagnosis?

Your insight is always appreciated.

An aftermarket exhaust alone shouldn't cause you to fail a smog check. No idea about your cat question, though, sorry.

AFAIK, Yes, there is truth to his diagnosis.

O2 sensors have nothing to do with fuel delivery, they merely monitor the efficiency of the cats. If the PCM is faulty to begin with and cannot maintain the proper operating conditions, the cats could be damaged by a low-oxygen condition.
