Here is a snip of a conversation I just had with a girl I met a few months ago. Context is about the S2000.

her: man just get a regular car like an accord. i'd rather buy those than waste my money on an S2000. i would save for an M3.
me: S2000 would hold its value better than an Accord anyhow.
her: i don't know, but thats just me. i respect the Accord more than I do the S2000.
me: why?
her: it doesn't have that 'wannabe' essence
me: wannabe? wannabe what?
her: wannabe hip. like trendy or cool.
me: you think people buy roadsters because they want to be hip?
her: an S2000 yeah. you should have gotten a Porsche Boxster S.
me: you act like I have that money.
her: well good luck with your S2000. i wouldn't be caught dead in one of those. it goes right along with rice burners to me.
me: you won't have to worry about that. seeing as how you don't own a car, or have a job to purchase a car, i don't see how you can make a statement about anyone owning any car. you're entitled to your opinion, but i think it's a little snobby to talk like that before you've even driven any of the cars you think are good or bad.
her: uh huh.. well its my preference. you dont have to go along with it. you just will never impress me with it
me: you think ppl buy cars to impress you?
her: thats all you do is show off your car!
me: how?
her: you goddamn buddy icon is your car! you don't think i can see it? you name it like it's a person. i find that disturbing.
me: again, you think i put up a buddy icon specifically to impress you? i don't think you've dated any guys before have u? you know very little about men.. or cars for the matter
her: well you know nothing about me. bye.

beside her somewhat man-like voice, i thought she was cute when i first met her. in any case, i've never met someone so self-centered and snobby that it just stunned me. i seriously had to do a triple take because i just couldn't believe how a simple conversation on cars blew up like that. honestly, did i do something wrong? is having an animated gif of my car my parking garage (it has multiple levels for stacking cars) so obsessive? or naming my car? for all those wondering, i didn't spend $32k at the age of 20 to impress some girl i just met.

just wondering how you guys deal with this besides just leaving.

hmmmm, i would punch her in the throat and tell her to piss off. what an annoying bitch. she sounds like one of those "like...whatever" chicks. and not having a job and not having a car, how old is she???? does she have a licence???
and isnt she making contradictory or hypocritical statements like
her: man just get a regular car like an accord. i'd rather buy those than waste my money on an S2000. i would save for an M3.
wtf is that....hmmmm m3 vs accord vs s2000, one is a family car, one is a sports car and one is a sports car that is damn expensive, what a bitch

Punch her in the throat???!!! Haha, that's the funniest thing I've heard all day... That's it punch her in the throat, then, knee her in the face when she bends down... ouch...

Then say, how's that for an M3?? Huh??? And then taunt her for the rest of the time..

i dont know what it is. jealousy? people who know me know that i'm pretty easy going. i dont know if cleaning and maintaining my car is necessarily obessive, but if so, color me guilty. i have a passion for cars that i will never give up.

i just feel taken by surprise and disappointed that i didn't catch this kind of snobbiness early on. she is 21, but hasn't driven a car since she got her license when she was 16. she hasn't had a job, a car, and was kept indoors by her parents until college. suddenly she knows everything about life, cars, money, work, and dating.

why is she kept indoors, thats just plain weird......one of those sheltered types eh.
washing ur car is no biggie, unless you do it every day, sometimes even in the rain, or if its 11pm, then thats getting a little too obsessive, or if u keep a dustcloth in ur car, or how about a running log of ur daily driving exploits, thats pushing it, u dont do these things do u????

don't hate, just appreciate--

you found out early on that she is definitely not gf material--it's a waste of time to get upset or wonder why people are the way they are--

i meet a lot of grrls--and i just don't waste the energy on them if they have attitudes like that--

Sounds like she was simply trying to push your buttons. It's a power thing, perhaps compensating for having nothing herself. Certainly not much of a personality to speak of. Your first mistake is trying to understand her logic. There is none.
