Average house price in Orange County, Florida is about that amount ? Average house price in Orange County, California is way more than that.

If you have to ask how much raising kids cost, you can not afford to have any.

It listed the average price in Irvine, CA at $142k. This was a few months ago, they might have fixed it to be $150k by now

Most people can't afford to have kids but still make it anyway. If you have even average income, you'll survive.

Get most of your stuff from a baby shower. I thought it would hit more than it really did since my wife and I use to hit the club scene before and spend a few hundred every weekend we haven't gone back since. Now my daughter is a year and a half, I can say money is the least of your worries. Just get ready to not have any time to yourself and accept that. With that said, nothing brings me more happiness than seeing my daughter grow and learn, it truly is amazing.

Thanks for the link, however I don't see how your income changes the other things.

Food is more expensive depending on your income? That doesn't seem to make any sense, but that's msn for ya.
I seems, at least from my experience of raising two daughters, that as your income goes up you do spend more for food, clothes, recreation, etc. For example when the kids were just born and things were tight there were a lot of "Hamburger Help" dinners. As time as gone on and things improve that fine dish has not graced our table in years. The same goes with designer labels, where you go on vacation, types of gifts and educational perks the kids get. Its all proportional

In some article I read, it said that a kid costs $500K from birth to 21, including private school, which would be about $24K per year?

About $6k for the first 2 years so far.

However, I also got very nice tax deductions/exemptions that offset that cost somewhat. There also a savings from the fact that I didn't spend money on going out since I was spending money with my kid.

Overall I think it pays off. Good luck.

lol sorry man, just gota ask, this is a very sensitive equipment for a very sensitive part of her body, so wouldn't you wanna buy it new? instead of borrowing...?
What we actually did was borrow the pump, but bought replacement tubes, bottles, thingies that go on the boobies, etc.

So the unit was borrowed, but the important stuff was new.

I could have a red F430 in my garage if I have no kid at all.
Instead, I have 2 wonderfull girls and a lousy S2000.
