Bush's plan to stimulate the economy

People making under $75k who file for taxes get $600. Couples get $1200, but only if they make less than $150k together.

People making over $3k who don't file (aka file under parents) get $300.

 

It's my money anyway. I'll probably stash it away or help to further pay off some debts.

 

I think the stimulous packages are dumb because most people will buy goods that come from other countries, meaning it will stimulate China's economy. And will put the nation further in debt. But if they are giving back $600 of my cash, great.

I'll put it toward paying off what's left of my home equity loan.

 

Well they ain't really giving anything back. All the taxes they would have collected without this 'break' are already allocated (that is, already spent). So, this is money we don't have, and simply increases our debt.
