So what's the fascination with the S2K...

What led you to this particular car vs other sporty cars?

Then, take a drive. Slam through the gears to 9K every time.
Then you will know why I bought the car.

The S2K is unique compared to other sports cars. For one, it's about the best value out there in a sports car. Secondly, it has a lot of unique features like a 9k (8k in newer versions) redline, a short shifting, close geared 6 speed transmission, about the best handling you'll find in a sports car, and the reliability of a Civic. There is more to it than that but that's a start.
Every review I read of the S where they put it up against the Boxter S, BMW M Roadster, Audi TT, and the other car it was up against (that I forgot), they either had the Boxter S first and The S2K second or the S2K forst and the Boxter S second. And since the Boxter S is $22,000 MORE than the S2K, I'd say that puts the S2K on the top of my list.
In the 5yrs since the comparrisons, I've heard that the Boxter S hasn't been very reliable. The engines would let go in the strangest places - leaving a stop light under normal driving conditions, on start up and other stuff like that...makes me glad I decided on the S.
Just wish the S had about 100lb/ft more torque, that's my ONLY pet pieve about the S.

<----That is.

I've loved Hondas, and wanted one when it first came out. Like other people have stated, I loved the 9k redline, "best shifter in the world", digital tach, it was priced well, it went up against cars twice its price...and won (at least some comparos) and it reminded me of my dad's TR-7. Plus it was just different, like a smaller brother to the NSX and someday something I could afford, and did!
When the AP2's came around I was both happy and sad. I loved the new styling and the bigger engine, but missed the 9k. But for a daily driver, the better stereo, softer supension and more TQ won out over the higher and "mostly for bragging rights 9k"

C'mon you know its true.
