The ranking system is based on a chess model in which your rank (and your teammates) vs who you play affects where you on the ladder. Meaning if you fight another team full of peers (capts/leuitenants) and you have a team full of newbies (butter bars, camel toes), you will actually gain more points because the odds, based on rank, are against you.

I typically will join in any game where I have newbies on my team... it not only helps me maintain my wings, but it also gives newbies a better grasp (hopefully) of what to do in the game. In the end it makes everyone a better player.

I never play respawn, I just don't see the fun in fragging... might as well quake if you want that. I tried searching for everyone online when I got on yesterday but nobody but MrMack was on.

I gotta get rid of my mic too, damn Sony one isn't as good as the Logitech I got with Socom1 (that broke).

i know what u mean about the respawns and it being like queak..... the one thing it really helps me do is stay cool when you have multiple enemies on the screen. when you go through and you have just killed like 3 people in a row it gets u pumped and i find that by doing those respawns it helps me stay cool when craziness breaks out on regular levels. loki what maps do you have a tendency to play??

 

I think I like most of them except Shadow Falls and Enowapi... and/or the levels that allow the cheap ass grenade launchers.

 

ive actually never played shadow falls before. that and chain reaction and yeah enowapi and sujo seem to have a real advantage when playing as a seal.

 

I'm a recovering SOCOM addict. I was addicted to SOCOM 1 when it first came out like Tyrone Bigguns is addicted to crack. When the Deuce came out I had a time adjusting for a while and then got way into it again. I ended up putting it down over the holidays but I'm starting to relapse once again. I rank at like 100k. I'm glad there is no cheating on II but I miss playing classic maps like Blood Lake and Abandon that noone seems to play anymore. My handle is Rizzzo and am usually somewhere in any central server. "Jester, what are you doing? Hold your fire!" God I love those commercials. LOL

last night i was ranked around 39000....it changes every day though as you guys know, i think sandstorm as a seal is my favorite map to date...i've had the game since it came out and sandstorm was the first new map i read about in a magazine. All i ever play is breach medleys
