Some S2K Owners Are D!CKs
It occurs to me that the people you were holding up in traffic may have thought you were dicks, too.
I've met a number of S2k owners at events and so far have found them to be pretty good people. Maybe true enthusiasts are a better class than those who buy the car for other reasons. And there are new s2k owners who don't know about this forum or about the tradition of exchanging waves (which goes back to post-WWII days when import cars first began appearing on US roads).
Some people are just a-holes, and putting them in a great car doesn't make them any better.

Sadly, this does seem to be true. The people I have met so far at events have been VERY kind, happy and helpful. Giving and helping out with advice and stuff.
The people I have seen out on the road with S2K's however seem to be complete buttheads. i.e. I was in the PB area in San Diego last weekend. I was cruising down Garnet and ended up right behind a silver/black. Follow him for several blocks before he turned off on a side street.
I went on down to the pier area and got a quick soda. Coming back up Garnet I got behind him AGAIN. Can't believe that happened, what timing. Honked my horn, waved to him in his rear view mirror. Got nuthin back, NADA, ZIPPO, ZILCH, not even so much as a glance from him. He was not anyone I have seen at events but geez!!!
Oh well, like ya all said maybe they just don't care.
Just a thought.

I can't say they're D!CKS, but most of the ones I see on the road are too shy or too cool to give a heads up. When I used to drive my Wrangler, most Jeep owners would say hi, on the street while driving that is. I try to say whattup to S2K owners, but not a single one I saw returned the gesture. This goes with most Honda owners, Type Rs, NSXs, the nicer ones.
I think Honda owners have this underdog mentality that they always gotta prove themselves, and it gets so immature and lame. Seriously, live a little, it's ok if your penis is smaller than you want it to be. If you're really concerned and want to compensate, get a raised truck.

Maybe it is your location? I have not encountered this attitude here in Atlanta. The times I have seen another S2000 driver: the horns start honking and the hands start waiving. I am sorry about your experience with fellow S2000 drivers, but I think it is uncommon.
Yeah, I defninitely think so. Here in socal, it's all about money. People don't care about the whole collective concept. I have a nice car, you have my same car, I don't really give a good god damn, I'm gonna get a better car in two weeks cuz I'm leasing, so screw you and your kind gestures of recognition. That's the LA thang.
S2000 Talk is about the S2000.. not whether the owners are dicks.
Secondly, just because the title or subject has s2000 in it, does not mean it should stay in S2000 Talk.
