Default some Wages ($) at my work....06 W2's

One factory guy who works some OT made over $60k in 2006! We had lots of guys in the $50k's.... That is pretty good $ to make shit in a factory! Hopefully they are saving or investing some of it for retirement.

Our Janitor made just $30k with overtime. He spends a fair amount of time driving to the bank (he picks a branch that is far away....doh ), getting lunches for the Accounts Payable ladies and other useless stuff.

Just thought I would share what people make in central PA.

with those kinds of numbers, I guess a recent college should be making $40k minimum? I made $18k right out of college in 1991.

not sure how much OT he worked.... our average Factory guy was at about $40k this year..... It is definately a physical job.... and depending on the position, it could be dangerous (we heat treat metal) with all the flames and punches.....

we rarely have accidents. about 10 years ago a guy got backed over with a forklift and lost part of his leg. I think since then maybe 2 people lost some part of a finger. besides that mostly back strains, etc...

That's pretty good for a labourer. I've got an engineering degree and I'm not making significantly more than the top guy there.

Of course, I work, at most, 42 hours a week, so it's not quite comparable, but still...

I could just get by on 60k a year, and I am single with no kids but I live in a relatively expensive area.

40k for a college grad is probably avg across the country for all majors. engineers probably around 50k.

in canada here's how 30K goes:

30,000 gross

6500 taxes
6000 transportation
8000 housing (small basement apt or the like)
1000 phone/cable
2000 furnishings/clothing

6500 for everything else

dood, factory workers around hanover where i work make a great living. i work with there incomes when they by a car. of course the overtime is a savior, but yeah $50-60k is not unusual around here

i knew a guy that made $80k working for a brick factory near hanover.

It's not just factory workers, Law Enforcement is raking it in too. I should know, I'm one of them. California is an extreme case of course the cost of living is high there...
