SONY PlayStation 2
#1
I was never a gaming fan. Never owned a game console in my life. Maybe it is the idea of selling it on Ebay for $500. But the PSX2 is really gettting me all hyped up. Are you guys gonna camp outside a Walmart or Target like I will with friends on Wednesday night? (Damn..I sound like a teen. For God's sake, I'll be 30 next year!)
For those from the D.C. area, I just found out the Walmart in Laurel, MD is opening at 6AM (one hour earlier than their regular hours) on Thursday to EXCLUSIVELY cater to the PSX2 nutheads. This is the earliest store opening I know so far.

I will be getting one just to play GT2... (and GT2000 when it comes out)also there does appear to be some games for it that my son would really like. It will probably end up as his DVD player.

I'm not going to be camped out on Wednesday night. I'll eventually get one, maybe around Christmas time for the heck of it. But one game that does look cool is Summoner. Gotta check out the download section even if you aren't into games. Great vid summoner geeks

I plan on getting one too.
But where?
I am not camping out.
I wonder if those super walmarts that are open 24hrs will be selling them after mid-night?
I need to check on that.
Otherwise I may have to wait until next year
I too have never owned a game console I have always just played PC games.

I would wait a few months...the prices will drop dramatically. I feel stupid now after looking at how much I paid for my Dreamcast. Of course, the fact that I now can burn games for it makes me feel a lot better!

S2001Yellow - I'm 32 here and making games for a living. If you want a PS2 this year you will need to get it ASAP. They will be in very short supply for quite awhile.
Jay Li - Sorry to say that Sega Dreamcast systems will die after Christmas. Major retailers are refusing to give them the shelf space. Kmart and WalMart both will no longer carry them after Christmas.

As much as I like PS2, I am going to wait.
I can wait 2 years
I just bought a playstation 2 months ago, btw.
I can really wait, no matter how much I want it.
I got it for only 99 bucks and I had endless fun with GT2. The generic dualshock controller was only 8 bucks and a 120 block card was only 11 bucks ( got 2 of those to save all the replays!!!!).
