My youngest son - turning 8 - has a PS2, I am looking for some games for his birthday next week.

He has Madden football, ATV off road racing, and Timesplitters.

He wants a Monster truck game, but I don't see one available yet.

Any suggestions from you gamers?

 

SSX is really good. So far I'm pretty unhappy with how few good title there are out. I'm waiting for GT3, Twisted Metal Black, and Wipeout Fusion.

 

I love SSX...it's a snowboarding game...I don't think it is violent enough for the kid though.

 

If he likes soccer or even if he doesn't fifa is amazing. I can't stop playing it...with the exception of no Portuguese National team the game is great.

 

I have Madden, Silent Scope, and Summoner. I will sell them to ya for 75 bucks.......and I have rented Oni and I loved it.

4x4 Evolution comes out tomorrow. That would be the next best thing after monster trucks.

My current personal favorite PS2 game: Super Bust-A-Move. The most glorious waste of graphic processing prowess ever. Probably too mature a game for an eight year old, though. I'd stick with 4X4. See http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/categories/prod...sp?pf_id=197606 for more info.

 

SSX is badass. I'm totally addicted to it. Carpal tunnel of the thumbs is setting in.

 

Sounds like the game to get...just hope my eight year old doesn't call it "badass"!

SSX is a great game and my 7 yearold loves it.
But he probably plays Crash Team Racing more even though
it is a PS1 game.
