Default Spains auto life

Well fellas, i got a project on my hands. I'm taking a MGMT course and i have to research about the way of life in spain, basically to find out if i was given a chance to live their, would i take the offer. Well i have gotten plenty of information, regarding, culture, way of life, government, etc.
For myself, i'm a huge fan of cars and the likes. For those that have been there, how is it there for cars?
Are there huge car fanatics?
Local hangouts?
Tracks?

you see it'll be very hard for me to live there if, i'm the only one into cars

thanks fellas.

well, I was there for ten days or so in early june a few years ago. While driving around in southern Spain on more than one occasion, we passed a small town with a bunch of rally cars pulled up at a local restaurant around noon. You can't beat that.

I'd say the car culture is pretty good, comparable to many places in the US.

You might post your query in the UK subforum - they probably have more members with experience in Spain.

I'd have no problems moving there tomorrow, if I had a job waiting for me.

I spent 2 weeks there in August, and I really didn't notice a car scene per say... For one, nearly every car is a small, compact, usually hatchback (I guess thats just european style), and lots of diesels. Every once in a while I would spot something out of the corner of my eye that resembled a riced out civic (be it a Peugot with a huge spoiler or a SEAT with a muffler). I spent a week in Madrid, a weekend in Santander, and another weekend in San Sebastian/Bilbao, and I didn't see much if any sort of "tuned" cars. It wasn't like here in the US where you spot tons of tuned cars every minute you spend on the road. And I dont think theyre big on drag racing and stuff like that at all.

Then again, maybe I wasn't looking well since my sobriety was nowhere to be found...

Funny story, one of the girls I met up with there had a VW GTI, and she was talking about her car and complaining about this noise it makes every time she shifts (BOV). She had no idea it was a turbo, so I tried to explain it to her

yeah there are a couple spain guys i think. one is countach i think? i'm not going to be of much help, but from the 1.5 weeks i spent there last month i wasn't able to see any kind of car scene. not to say there isn't one, but it was just as C U at 9K said.

however, i would totally live in spain. cars or no cars. the way of life there is perfect for me, and the people there are awesome as well. i have nothing bad to say about spain

Yes sir.

And I'd love to live there, hopefully I'll get to spend at least a month there this summer. I'd have to practice my parallel parking skills though

Italy and Germany are just on the other side of France, if that helps any.
