Default spaying a dog

anyone else think it's cruel and messed up to spay or neuter animals? imagine if some larger being decided that for humans. the vet says there are health benefits, but i'm just on the fence about it. input appreciated.

We'd probably be better off as a species.

Jamie Lynn and Britney Spears. Need I say more?

Neuter the dog. Maybe he won't bite the groomer.

I neutered my dog cause I always took him to my friend's house to play with their female boxer. Also the fact that I wasnt going to use him for breeding either. Would you want your dog to be walking around with huge sacs everywhere? My dog used to start humping until I kinda slammed him into the ground, not very hard and pointed at him and said NO. He stopped doing it ever since. It was funny everytime I saw him humping some random object though

Spay or neuter unless you're a knowlegeable, responsible and professional breeder. The dog (or cat) won't know the differnce intellectually, will not be as aggressive, won't be as likely to spray and will live a longer, healthier life. If the animal is a female, she won't go into heat, drawing every loose male to your door. An animal's sexual desire is run by hormones and pheromones far more than a human's. There are no emotions involvesd in their sexual behavior, just stimulus and response.
Do a quick Google search on the benefits of spaying an neutering. The results will cover the issue far better than I can.
