Default Speaking of airbags...

I was reading in a post somewhere in these forums about air bags and the damage they do. My friends and I went on a ski trip this past winter, I was driving up front in the passanger seat of a small civic. The roads got icy, we were going a little faster than we should have and here is what happened to me.

Be warned its not pretty.

My pretty little face all busted up!

Luckily I am a very quick healer, i was back to normal after a week and a half. Seriously though when the paramedics came to the scene I was in bad shape, the smell is just horrid and it was such a burning sensation. I told the doc it felt like I had gone 10 rounds with mike tyson, except I still had my ear!

Yee-ouch! Glad you're okay now. As an avid airbag non-advocate, I have a couple of questions:

1. Were you wearing your seatbelt?
2. What hit the windshield on the passenger side?

My first reaction was "Ouch"! Looks like the airbag did a number on your skin. Glad you both came out of the accident in fairly good shape though. How did the passenger side of the windshield get smashed?

I guess it pays to have a 2 seater ... don't have to worry about your grouchy friends in the back complaining about leg room.

spa: yes, I was wearing my seatbelt, and the console covering the airbag poped up and cracked the windshield. My roomate who was driving did not have his seatbelt on and he came out with a little tiny scratch on his chin.

Psicho: you damn right

Marco,

You looked pretty banged up. Glad you're alright though. The injuries look mostly like burns from the airbag material going across your face.

I'd still rather kiss the airbag than the windshield.
