What's with the odd rear bumper?

 

That looks like a SSM/SSX prototype picture of the S2000. It's probably a few years old

 

Tail lights are different too. I'm with Y2KS2K, it looks like the concept car.

The taillights are different, but the roll hoops don't look like the SSM roll hoops...I wonder what that picture is from.

 

Probably just and early test mule. Non-certified bumpers, pre-production exhaust and taillights.

This is a truly ancient picture, it has the same taillights and rear bumper of the first real prototype picture of the S2k. I can't remember the zine it was in, but it was a black car and only a rear view, it was also in a garage. I'd love to think we could purchase these parts

 

I seem to remember seeing a similar muffler on a young man's Civic yesterday who signaled me that I was still #1 when I gracefully declined his offer to a contest of speed. His car was also artfully plastered with approximately 3000 different stickers.
