What's a spider?

This thread is great! After living in Hawaii all my life, I will be moving to the continental US shortly. This information is really useful!

We don't really have anything to worry about here - It's not only paradise, for the most part it's a bug/vermin/predator/reptile/etc. free paradise. Only friendly spiders here. The cost of living sucks tho.

I'm surpised the Aussies haven't chimed in yet. They're probably laughing. Their plants do more damage then our insects... And speaking of the dreaded Funnel Web Spider, I also heard it's fangs can give you a lethal bite through a leather boot!

We've also got the world's deadliest snakes, octopus, jellyfish (you read right), molluscs (aha), fish (yep, step on one and you're a goner), sharks and crocodiles.

Mate, the Sydney Funnelweb is the deadliest spider on earth, and yes it can bite through leather or rubber boots.

It is what many people use in the U.K.
It has a limited effect but tends to kill them.
The ant killer powders seem to have limited effect also.
Flamethrower?

Napalm works wonders and leaves a smoldering effect!

So is it the steam that get rid of ants? Or am I suppose to pour scalding hot water on them?
