Default Springsteen sucked.

I am not a big fan of the guy to start with, so lets get this out of the way right now. I have a bunch of friends who worship him, they travel to see his shows in different cities. I don't get it. Hero of the working man, blue collar blah blah blah.

His riffs are simple, his lyrics are cliche, and last night this hokey "What time is it?" stuff. He just looked like some old grandpa with a bunch of fat bandmates. I had a girlfriend once and I asked her if she liked him and she said "No. Every song he sings he grunts out like he is taking a dump." (she was hot but not real classy)

I am not a Stones fan either, but at least when I see them they have some panache and don't seem to embarass themselves, but I don't see that in Bruce?

What gives? Somebody explain what all the fuss is about with this guy.

FLAME SUIT ON!!!!!!

I like some of Bruce's material, and I appreciate his activism. But I honestly haven't heard a lot of his material, E-Street or otherwise, and several of his songs I just don't like. I think his gig last night was the typical SB half-time show fare, so in that sense I don't see it as a failure so much as the half-time show being a failure in general, whether it's The Boss, Petty, Janet+Justin, or anyone else. I watched the first minute or two of the opening, and flipped to a Mythbusters rerun, which is much more interesting.

I thought Bruce's "GET AWAY FROM THE BEAN DIP!!! PUT THE CHICKEN FINGERS DOWN!!!" was pretty funny though.

Well everybody has their own taste in music man .. I'm sure YOUR favorite bands are not liked by others as well ..

I for one think he is good. I mean his performance yesterday at least is better than 80% of the shit they normally stew up at the halftime shows ...

I am not a die hardcore fan, but I don't think he sucks either.

I don't get him either and his performance was comical to me, but on the positive side he was smiling and having a good time.

I just don't understand why they'd have an old man like him climbing up on things where he has to throw a leg up, awkwardly spin himself into position and stand up. If he can't jump up somewhere gracefully, don't make it apparent that he's a geezer.

petty did a better job last year, but I have a bit more respect for the man as a musician.

god, the music industry is in a terrible spot.
