The SR-71... greatest aircraft ever?
I agree. Once again, the commercial market is threatened by overseas competitors that can build it better, faster and cheaper.

I personally have always loved the F-15....I read or heard somewhere a year or two ago that no F-15 had ever been lost in combat. Had something like a 120+ to 0 kill ratio of course including the Israeli....
Most of the F-15's success is due to its radar, beyond visual range cabilities and its top secret IFF system (identification, friend or fo). There is a very good reason why we've never had one shot down and you could probably call it cheating, but hey, it works.

it's a warplane, built for war. no rules in war to cheat on (except Geneva Convention human right's abuses). for warplanes, it is not cheating, it is superiority.

There's two types of pilot: losers and cheaters.
All's fair in love, war, and motor sports.

I'd much rather be the cheating, dishonorable guy who gets to land his bird after a dogfight, than the honorable, rule-abiding one on the receiving end of the firepower, saying "hey! that's against the rules!"
