"Standard" web page width????
I'm building a web page using Photoshop>Image Ready>Golive and was wondering if there is a "standard" web page width/height?
I have a 19" monitor set to 1600x1200px, so when browsing the web, I'm guessing I have more screen real estate than most.
I'd guess most people use 800x600, so that's what I'm thinking I'll use for this site that I'm building. So what is the "standard" web page dimension based on 800x600 rez. ? My goal is to have the pages load without needing to scroll up or down, left or right to view the entire page. Because I'm doing the layout in Photoshop (fixed pixel size), I can't rely on tables "auto-sizing" to adjust for screen size.
Hope that makes sense, & don't worry, I not going to quit my day job
Thanks!

It's cool that you are thinking about it. I don't know what the average resolution is up to now, but I suspect it's still lower than we all think - there's a lot of folks out there with older systems. I've always designed for 800 x 600. In reality, its only 768 pixels across as you need to account for the vertical scroll bar. I'd also recommend picking up the O'Reilley book, "Web Design in a Nutshell". You should be able to find it for about $20 and it covers all this stuff - it's a good reference manual.
