Did you know there are FOUR verses?
I heard them once in a choral performance, but had a hard time discerning the words in verses 2-4.

Jamie Kennedy on the Jamie Kennedy Experiment.
He posed as a Country Recording Artist chosen to sing the National Anthem at a Minor League baseball game. He'd finish the first verse, then as people started to sit down, he'd start on the next verse.
He sang the WHOLE thing. Can you imagine having to stand through all of THIS???

we had a shindig on veterans day in honor of the local veterans in high school with at least 50 of them there, mostly WWII guys. anyway, one of my friends played the star spangled banner hendrix style, it wasn't cheesy...this guy is awesome, and a few of them walked out on it. they weren't thrilled about it. I guess if you fought, killed, and watched your best buddies die for this country the star spangled banner means a lot to you. even though hendrix is my favorite, i can understand why they thought it was disrespectful.
