Seriously, who becomes a cop? It used to be nepotism that determined who ended up on a police force. Now, it's just the random dimwit who couldn't cut it in medicine, business, law, or engineering curriculums. Not all of the dimwits with low self esteem have physical gifts but neither do they have any problem cheating nature with roids to compensate for their shortcomings. It's what they do in life.

People become cops for a lot of reasons, good salary, job security, good benefits, diverse and unpredictable work environment, fresh air, opportunity for promotion. There aren't many jobs that offer those things all in one job.

Not sure about the US but here a basic cop makes $88,000 a year base plus paid duty gigs which can add another $40K+ on top of that - $130,000/yr plus benefits for 8 - 10 hour days followed by a 6 day weekend plus paid time off and sick days.

Also, they get an 80% of pay pension after 30 years; start at 22, retire with a full pension at 52. Who else gets that?

There are a lot of reasons someone becomes a cop but probably the biggest reason is to **** with you personally.

 

If I couldnt get laid and was pushed around as a child because I was a complete asshole, what better way to get revenge on the world because my head is too far up my own ass to see straight then become a cop! The perfect revenge!! Shoot up roids and pop caps in every ass that doesnt worship me 5 times a day and taze anyone who even dares to look up at me! Also, a license to murder and do whatever the hell else you want... youre right, not many jobs come with those perks! Shoulda been a cop myself so I could taze and pistol whip the tools who think cops are so perfect. Even if I was a cop, Id still hate ass kissers and probably beat the shit outta you ricers!
