Loathed? Not hardly. Just laugh at the over incredulous nature in which he is worshipped as if, he really did anything.

The Mac OS came from Xerox. Sony dropped the mp3 player concept like 4 years before the iPod came out. All he did is dig through dumpsters and turn banana peels into cubic zirconia's. Was he really good at what he did? Sure. Should anyone really shed a tear (besides his immediate family), not really. He didn't really help the world, he took advantage of cheap Chinese labor (who's work conditions were so poor that it had that leading manufacturer suicide craze that hit China a while ago). So the guy decided that Lenovo's were ugly, and said let's make it silver and glossy. *Golf claps*. Now back to caring about people who care about people.

Though I should say, the way in which he paid himself should be heralded as the ultimate model for CEO pay. Dude's still rich, forfeited his excess salary. That and he left behind an inter-company legacy for future plans, and the APL University is extremely cool in terms of future progress of the company and it's American employee's.

What can you expect from Apple in the future? More of the same; barely upgraded equipment and software with vX.5 (or X.S) rolling out every year at the same cost point because having an a5 dual core phone is an absolute necessity because the a4, was simply not enough power to run youtube, twitter, facebook and Siri at the same time.

But all in all, the guy did good work at what he did. He marketed his products well, but even more he marketed himself well. Which is obvious by the "OMG Jobs is leaving the hospital to speak at a Keynote, *Stocks shoot up 6%*" Either way, may he rest in peace.

Well said. I think he was an amazing businessman who knew how to turn a profit, but nothing past that. I was annoyed but all the media claiming he invented the mouse and gui. No, he didn't, he stole the idea from Xerox. Watch The Pirates of Silicon Valley. He was abusive to his employees. I hate to bring up the sweatshop thing, since virtually every company takes advantage of it, but the big difference is Apple charges significantly more than necessary for their products. Enough that they could pay American workers and still turn a profit, or at the minimum pay Chinese workers a little better. Look at all the litigation Apple is involved in. Look at how they block competition simply because the devices look the same. They abuse patents, and worse the ridiculous "community design" laws in Europe. Read here to understand it: http://www.osnews.com/story/25056/Th...USPTO_Was_Bad/ They claim everyone steals their ideas, and the fanboys eat it up, but in reality they're a company founded on stolen ideas, and the Android-esque notification tray is a clear example of how they continue to steal ideas. Personally, I say get rid of software patents altogether so the courts aren't full of ridiculous cases (often initiated by Apple).

Steve Jobs was good at running a business and he did bring some innovation to tech, but he was by no means perfect. What I see is a lot of people on the anti-anything-but-Apple bandwagon that fail to see the faults with the company. How much has SJ donated to truly life-changing causes? It's not necessary to give your money to charities, but I still have more respect for someone that give a majority of their ridiculous wealth to improving the world.
