Stranded mountain climbers...doh!
How many idiots think they need to go hiking in the middle of the f'ing winter?
I could see if this was summer and there just happened to be a freak storm or something... IT IS ####ING WINTER....Weather says a HUGE storm and 1000 mph winds...... awesome... I think I'll go hike up a really big mountain.

The next group they should just leave up there and chalk it up to Darwinism.

are you talking about the climbers that got stranded up on mt. hood here in oregon...? they were the 2nd group this winter to get stuck up there. the 1st group wasn't so lucky... it was 3 guys... 1 guy they found dead in a snow cave, the other 2 are still missing. they're talking about requiring people to carry tracking devices if they plan to go above 10,000 ft. or something...
last winter, a 19 yr. old kid spent the night in the mt. hood parking lot in a sleeping bag, he was going to get up early and snowboard before everyone else. he got ran over by a snow plow... all they found were guts and ripped up pieces of clothes and sleeping bag.
there's been so many deadly freak winter accidents in oregon this past year...

While they don't say how many people have successfully climbed the mountain, it still stands to reason that your chances of dying may increase.
Don't F with mother nature.
In the past 25 years, more than 35 climbers have died on the 11,239-foot mountain, one of the most frequently climbed mountains in the world.

OT, but I had to ask...when one of them millionaire douchbags tries to circumvent the world in his baloons, and crashes, who pays for the rescue effort?

Serious mountain climbers climb peaks like Rainier and Hood in the winter to train for peaks like Everest, K2, and Aconcagua in the summer. I have a friend at the gym who did Everest last summer.
