strange pet behaviour
We have several pets. One of our dogs is a Australian Shepard. Very smart dogs! He loves to watch football... I'm trying to teach him the rules and what teams to go for. It's great to have a dog that will chill with you and is as interested in the game as you are. My fiance taught him how to open the refrigerator and get beers, but he hasn't done that in awhile.
Our cat gets into platic bags and often licks them - no idea why.
We have had several German Shepherds - as mentioned before, they're very smart indeed (most police dogs are GSs). They learned lots of tricks and were incredibly playful and good-natured.
As soon as the doorbell rang or a stranger came by they turned into snarling hounds of hell (we kept them as guard dogs so this was ideal). It was hard to believe they were the same dogs as before.

My wife and I just adopted a german shepard puppy....never had a shepard before, but gawwwdannng, shepards are smart!!!
Anyway, you gotta see my guy....lay a piece of ice on the floor and watch him go nuts! He'll start by pushing the ice with his nose, then will lick it...find that it's too cold and will drop it back down. Then he'll push it a few inches forward...then bark at it like he's trying to scare it away.
When the ice doesn't "back-off" he'll run through the house like he was reving at 9000 in and S2000, only to come back to bark at the ice again. He'll do this until the ice is no longer...then he licks it up, and pisses it out.
